Mapusa : The chairperson of Mapusa municipal council Ryan Braganza has tested negative for COVID-19 on Thursday. His councillor Swapnil Shirodkar and one employee has also tested negative. Meanwhile Mapusa reported seven cases on Thursday.
It may be recalled that since July 24 the chairperson Ryan Braganza along with two councillors Sudhir Kandolkar and Swapnil Shirodkar and a few staff had home quarantined themselves after they came in contact with a vegetable vendor who tested positive. The patient had visited MMC premises and also met the chairperson in his cabin.
On Tuesday the chairperson along with councillor Swapnil Shirodkar and one municipal employee had their swab testing done.
Chairperson Ryan Braganza said, “My swab samples for COVID-19 have been tested negative and also councillor Swapnil Shirodkar and one municipal employee have tested negative”.
However reports of councilor Sudhir Kandolkar and other staff are still awaited.
Meanwhile seven cases were detected in Mapusa on Thursday wherein five cases were detected in Karaswada and two cases were reported at Shetye waddo and the patients have been shifted to a COVID care centre for treatment.
