A way out from COVID-19 troubles

While Goans are trying to figure out the ‘new normal’ during the ongoing pandemic crisis, the Forum for Innovation Incubation Research and Entrepreneurship (FiiRE), Margao, in collaboration with Raia based Deepak Pathania launched a unique website called letssolveyourproblem.com (Let’s Solve Your Problem). The project is supported by the Goa State Innovation Council (GSInC).

A industrial designer, educator and inventor, Pathania said that, the website aims at identifying common pool of problems caused by COVID-19  and find practical solutions to the same by creating a product or service which in turn would create new business ventures and fresh employment.

Explaining further, he said that the website will process queries in two stages. In the first stage, the general public will be asked to share their problems and website team would find solutions through in-house strength, partners, public interaction etc. “One or more solutions will be identified and put up as a concept. This concept would be crowd funded for prototype development and for the stipend for the team which will work on the project. The team which would be crowd sourced, would optimally consist of at least one designer and one engineer. Investors and entrepreneurs would be invited to join in the second stage,” said Pathania.

Said DS Prashant, CEO-FiiRE, “Being a technology business incubator, FiiRE can run this initiative all the way, viz., from the public outreach level onwards to the incubation of the idea level.” Pathania added, “I am against ideas being shared for free. In our methodology, our main call to action is for people to share their problems and we will strive to provide the ideas and solutions for these problems through effective products and services. This way it is a win-win situation for all.”

Lauding the website, JM Noronha, chairman, GSInC said, “It is a great initiative that can positively affect the state economy and industry, and most importantly be replicated in other parts of the country once it has proven itself.”
