Panaji: The state continued to report new cases of COVID-19, as 53 more persons tested positive for the COVID-19 pandemic on Monday taking the total number of active cases to 724 in the state.
Around 46 COVID patients have recovered from the dreaded disease in the last 24 hours.
With the new cases and the recoveries, the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Goa stand at 1,251 of which 724 are active, while 524 patients have defeated the deadly virus. The state has seen three COVID deaths
The bulletin issued by the directorate of health services maintained that as many as 16 of the 53 new cases are from Sankhali, three from Margao and one isolated case has been detected at Verna.
The media bulletin said that two cases each has been reported in the Mangor Hill, New Vaddem, Vasco and Margao while one case each has been reported in Chimbel and Headland Sada. According to the DHS, the 724 active cases include 104 persons, who travelled to Goa from outside by road, rail and air; 260 residents of Mangor Hill, while 222 cases are linked to the containment zone in Vasco.
The major locations from where cases are surfacing include Zuarinagar (24) New Vaddem (29), Morlem (22), Baina (41), Chimbel (27), Headland Sada (62) and Curtorim (31).
