Maruti Alto became the bestselling car in India for the 16th year in a row with 1.48 lakh vehicles sold in 2019-20. Launched in September 2000, Alto became India’s top selling car in 2004 and since then retained the position. The mass accepted hatchback has been adapting and reinventing to stay relevant to the fast evolving needs of customers. The car’s winning proposition is its blend of compact modern design, easy maneuverability, high fuel efficiency and upgraded safety and comfort features.

Alto is India’s first entry level car to become BS6 compliant. The car offers fuel efficiency of 22.05 km per litre for petrol and 31.56 km per kg for CNG. The standard safety features in the latest variant includes driver side airbag, ABS and EBD, reverse parking sensor, high speed alert system and seat belt reminder for both driver and co-driver. It also complies with latest crash and pedestrian safety regulation.
