GU puts off all exams except for Medicine faculty




The Goa University, vide a circular issued on Friday has stated that in view of the present COVID-19 pandemic situation, it has decided to postpone the commencement of all examinations from July 1, 2020 to August 3, 2020.

“The mode in which the examinations are to be conducted from August 3, 2020 onwards will be communicated shortly,” it adds.

The circular also states, “This circular does not apply to the examinations being held/ to be held under the Faculty
of Medicine.”

Meanwhile, the GU has also informed that it would not hold Semester End Examination (SEE) for lower semester students of all PG Programmes of General Education offered at the university campus and at the affiliated colleges for the current academic year 2019-20.

This will include the integrated MBA (Hospitality, Travel and Tourism) programmes offered at the Goa Business School and Integrated Master of Commerce Programme offered at the S S Dempo College of Commerce and Economics, Cujira.

All these students shall be graded based on the marks scored by them in the Intra Semester Assessment (ISA) during the current semester.

“Regular/ repeat examinations of the final year examination and repeat examinations of lower semesters of all PG Programmes of General Education shall be conducted in online mode from August 3, 2020 onwards,” informs that circular issued by Goa University Registrar Y V Reddy, adding, “Detailed guidelines for conduct of online examination shall be issued subsequently.”

No student shall be detained from moving to the next semester. However, students, who fail after applying the grading system, shall have to pass the examination for the course(s) in which they have failed, whenever the examination is held next.
