A boost to Goan tourism


A new hospitality brand, Tangere Hotels and Resorts was launched by managing director, Vision Dempo Hospitality and Estates Private Limited, Rajesh Dempo. The launch was held alongside the inauguration of the new food and beverage venue, Oriano at Sky Deck at The Crown Goa, Panaji. Also present were Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant and finance director, Vision Dempo Hospitality and Estates Private Limited, Bhakti Dempo.

In his address Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant stated that Goa is known for its hospitality. “There will be an influx of tourists in Goa due to the hospitality and tourism industry and we are bringing in more policies that will aid in this development,” he said. He further informed that over the last few months, he and the other ministers have been working towards enhancing the industrial policy, the IT policy and are also coming up with an eco tourism policy.

Sawant further added that the government is targeting people from different countries to come to Goa and stay for a longer period. “We want tourists to stay for more than three days and hence we are encouraging more tourism industries in Goa. We want sustainable development that will make this industry last for more than 50 years and bring in more investors,”

he said. 

Dempo thanked the efforts of the government towards the tourism industry. “This is all because of you and the pro tourism policies and initiatives that encourage us to expand in this hospitality industry,” said Dempo. With the launch of Tangere Hotels and Resorts, the founders aim at creating employment opportunities which will benefit the youth looking to enter this profession, generate revenue to the government in terms of taxes and add to Goa’s reputation of being one of the most favourite destinations in the world.
