Goan shuttlers Pranjal Chimulkar and Tanisha Crasto won bronze in their respective categories at the All India Senior Badminton Ranking Tournament held in
Bengaluru.

While Pranjal won her bronze in mixed doubles, Tanisha’s bronze came in women’s doubles category.

In mixed doubles, Pranjal along with her partner Ashith Surya from Karnataka defeated Tushar Sharma and Ramya Tulsi BV 21-19 , 8- 21, 21-10, followed by an  upset 21-19, 21-18 win against fourth seeds Saurabh Sharma and Kanika Kanwal in the quarter finals.

In a closely-fought semis, Pranjal/Ashith were edged out 21-14, 20-22, 21-17 by Dingku Sing K/Ritika Thaker.

In women’s doubles, Tanisha and her partner Sahithi Bandi registered an easy 21-6, 21-11 win over Sarah Alma Basil and Krishna Priya Sujith in the round of 16. In quarterfinals, Tanisha/Sahiti battled past seventh seeds Kuhoo Garg and Anoushka Parikh, winning 14-21, 21-13, 21-5. In semis however Tanisha/Sahiti succumbed to a 15-21, 11-21 loss to top seeds Shikha Gautam and Ashwini Bhat and settled for bronze.

In other results, Goa’s Sunny Sawant who partnered Punjab’s Sahil Katlaria performed well to reach main draw in men’s doubles
section.
