Handloom exhibition underway in city

PANAJI: ‘Cottonfab-2019,’ a 17-day handloom exhibition is going on at Kala Academy, DBB Road, Panaji is underway and will be open for public until August 5. The exhibition showcases cotton sari, dress material, kurtis, home furnishing and also jewellery. The exhibition is captivating the interest of the shopaholics. Cottonfab always bring something new for the citizens and this time people got the opportunity to buy handloom materials of different states of the country under one roof. The buyers are being captivated towards the beautifully crafted handicraft stuff. Especially, the Kutch Block printed cotton material, Lucknow Chikan embroidery work. The handloom products on exhibit are sources from more than 120 participants from 16 states are vying the costumers.  This exhibition is absolutely with ethnic weaves and print, and is organised with a view for promoting weavers and artisans from different parts of India. Vibrant Goa delegation back from road shows in South East Asia

PANAJI: To identify business opportunities ahead of the Vibrant Goa- Expo and Summit 2019  on October 17 to October 19, a 10-member delegation from Goan industry recently concluded a four-nation road-show of south east Asia to Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore. In Kuala Lumpur, the delegation interacted with forty companies in meetings organised by Indian High Commission jointly with Kuala Lumpur Malay Chamber of Commerce and Kuala Lumpur Selangor India Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In Vietnam the delegation visited Ho Chi Minh city and Hanoi while, in Bangkok, the team addressed seventy Thai companies in a business meeting organised by the Indian Embassy with India Thai Chamber of Commerce and Thailand India Business Council. The Vibrant Goa summit is receiving support from the state government as well as various industry organisations. NT
