It might have been the first day of the week, but people were seen enjoying the annual Sao Joao festivities across the state. While pool and club parties began on Saturday, the traditional celebrations that took place on Monday brought out the true essence of the fun-filled day. From wearing kopels, dancing to the Konkani traditional songs and moving about the vanity in floral attire and sharing along tropical fruits like mangoes, jackfruit, pineapple, etc, the young and old were seen having a gala time. The light showers also added to the fun, while it was sunny for most part of the day. In Siolim the Sao Joao boat festival was also held that attracted a lot of people, including tourists.
