In a bid to pay tribute to Goa’s distinct heritage and its beloved cashew fruit, ITC Grand Goa Resort & Spa hosted the first edition of ‘Cashew Tales’. The event was hosted by the resort’s general manager, Bhagwan Balani and featured a series of exciting activities.
Artists, aficionados, corporates and connoisseurs came together to participate in an afternoon of harvesting and crafting of the Goan experience.
On arrival, guests were greeted with a refreshing cashew niro. The beverage selection offered a fusion of heady flavours, blending spices and seasonal fruits with feni and urak. The event also featured a cashew stomping ground and live band along with a selection of food and desserts infused with the flavours of the cashew fruit by executive chef, Sunil Gadihoke. Guests were also given the opportunity to participate in the cooking activity along with head and foot massages while children joined in art and craft activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Balani said: “ITC Hotels is rooted to the ethos of the land and strives to create indigenous experiences. ‘Cashew Tales’ is one of our many ways to celebrate the spirit of Goa. The cashew has always been close to our hearts. Let’s cherish these moments as we embark on the journey of Cashew Tales.”
On this occasion the 25th anniversary of Mario Miranda’s design was also commemorated on the Lembranca. In true Goan fashion, mandos were sung to the beat of the ghumot.
