Vedanta is celebrating 48th National Safety Week at its Amona plant. The company’s Value Added Business (VAB) division is celebrating safety week with the theme,Cultivate and Sustain Safety Culture for Building Nation. Vivek Marathe, chief inspector, Factories & Boilers, was the chief guest at the inaugural function on March 4, in the presence of senior officials, NL Vhatte, director VAB, Vijay Khanzode, head operations and maintenance, Mahesh Mahajan, chief safety officer, Saptesh Sardesai, Nitesh Nirala and Ramesh Sinari, union leader.
Aimed at inculcating safety culture at the workplace, the week-long awareness drive includes various activities such as safety pledge, awareness sessions and talks, safety awareness rallies and competitions educating the employees about safety. While addressing the gathering, Marathe said “I appreciate the endeavors made by Vedanta to educate its employees about the importance of safety and encourage them to adopt best practices in order to have a safe working environment at their facility.” Vhatte added, “At Vedanta, safety is one of our topmost priority and we strongly believe in ‘Zero Harm’ policy. I urge all my colleagues to strictly follow all the safety procedures and norms before performing any of the tasks.”
