The latest offering from Nissan Motors India, Nissan Kicks launched at the AM Ventures dealership in Verna, earlier last week. The SUV is available in four variants with a starting price of Rs 9.55 lakhs for the base petrol model and Rs10.85 lakhs for the diesel model.

“Nissan has introduced a new car after a gap of about five years in the Indian market. So we are looking for a good response and are confident to grab a major market share,” said Lara Menezes Godinho, owner AM Ventures.  She added that, Nissan as a brand has always been popular among Goans and with so many fellow Goans living overseas, the car is likely to do well. The dealership is targeting earning youth and Goans working overseas clientele for clientele.

“We have already received 25 bookings for the new car and deliveries have commenced post the launch. We have stock of about 16-20 cars at the showroom currently both in diesel and petrol variants,” said a sales official at the Verna outlet. However there is a waiting period of about one month expected for the petrol variant, he informed.

It is based on the same B0 platform consisting of a stretched wheelbase which underpins the existing Terrano and Renault’s Duster and Captur SUV models. The engine produces 106Ps of power and 142Nm of peak torque. The petrol engine is mated to a 5-specd manual while the diesel gets a 6-speed unit. Like most of its competitors, power is sent only to the front wheels.

The car is packed with loads of safety and lifestyle features. It offers Nissan Connect 2.0 version which has 67 features loaded to change the future of driving. This feature along with dual airbags, ABS, and a host of other features are available from the base variant itself.  It also comes with premium interior finishes and spacious interiors on the front .The higher variants of the Kicks come equipped with an 8.0 inch android and apple compatible touch screen infotainment system.
