Goa’s IT Startup ball gets rolling

Goa Startup and Innovation Day, a two-day event of the state government was a success by all accounts. The event saw the launch of the much awaited Startup Policy, the unveiling of the startup website and the launch of the state startup ecosystem report. In addition host of measures were announced to boost IT startups in the state.

The government is eager to promote the state as a startup hub. For this, there are plans to set up incubators and startup mentoring cells. The momentum in accelerating startups is just started and will continue, according to the government. The event was the most well attended of all IT events in the state.  In his key note address, Suresh Prabhu, minister of commerce and industry, said that, Goa has all the potential to become startup capital of the nation and startups will be the new engine of growth.
