Bank of Maharashtra, zonal office, celebrated World Senior Citizen Day on August 8 at Sneha Mandir Ashram, Bandora. The function was attended by Chitra Datar, zonal manager, Goa, with other officials such as Suman Samant, administrator, Sneha Mandir. Samant spoke on the history, object and role of the institution in welfare of senior citizens and society. “The ashram is a place known for diffusing love and care among the senior citizens and other needy classes of society,” she said.
Expressing her views on senior citizens in the society, Datar said that, the occasion is a great opportunity to felicitate senior citizens who occupy a very important role in our society. During the occasion elderly residents of the home were made aware of various schemes of BoM meant exclusively for senior citizens. Blankets were distributed to around 87 senior citizens residing at the old-age home. Santosh Bhate, manager, concluded the function with vote of thanks.
The function was hosted by Girish Chimulkar, Bandora branch and co-ordinated by Sushant Panda and Jaiprakash Prasad, deputy managers.
