Siolim murder case: Cops clueless on autopsy report

Anjuna police is clueless with regard to the charred body of a woman which was found on Friday morning. Even the autopsy report could not ascertain the cause of death due to excessive burning.

It may be recalled that on Friday morning the charred body of a woman was found at Siolim which was beyond recognition. Police have found a toe ring, a finger ring, a bangle in hand and a gold chain from the deceased body.  Police also recovered a bottle cap and a lighter from the spot.

The police are also working on the possibility that the deceased must have been murdered first and later brought to the ground and burnt using kerosene, as the smell of kerosene was very evident from the spot.

Anjuna police have registered an offence under section 302 (Murder) and 201 (destruction of evidence) of IPC.

On Saturday morning an autopsy was conducted at the Goa Medical College at Bambolim but the exact cause of death could not be revealed because of excessive burning and carbonisation of the organs. The deceased woman will be in the age group of 20 to 25 years and her height would be about 144 cm, police said. Anjuna police is investigating the matter.
