SIRIDAO: St Joseph Vaz, Sancoale entered the quarterfinals of the 4th London Cup football tournament defeating hosts Siridao SC 2-1 at River Plate Siridao SC ground. While Viraj Joseph scored for Sancoale side, Siridao scored their lone goal through Francis.
Albert Developers win veterans soccer tourney
SALIGAO: Albert Developers Veterans laid their hands on the All Goa Veterans Soccer Cup, organised by Saligao Sporting Club, with a solitary goal win over Calangute Veterans, at Saligao grounds on Saturday. In an absorbing final, it was Albert Developers that struck in the 10th minute of the first session through a rasping shot from Francis Colaco, which beat former Dempo SC custodian Dominic D’Souza under the horizontal bar. Calangute colts tried their best to get the equaliser, but two brilliant efforts from Shailesh Miskin in the first session and Bruno Coutinho’s stiff grounder on crossing over was saved by keeper Chandrakant Naik.

VASCO: Following Executive Committee of the Tiswadi Taluka Chess Association was declared elected unopposed for the term 2017- 2021: Mahesh Candolkar (president), Kumarsen Kambli (vice president), Arvind Mhamal (secretary), Dattaram Pinge (treasure), Sanjay Belurkar (joint secretary), Balakrishnan V, Tanay Kaisary, Chaitanya Tarkar , Manmesh Naik (executive members) and Sarvanand Shirodkar, Prakash Sawant (Op opted members).
DBO Fatorda march into finals
GOA VELHA: Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda scored a narrow 3-2 win over Socio Cultural Club, Loutulim to move into the finals of the 11th London Trophy 2017, organised by Goa Velha SC and played at Goa Velha SC ground, on Sunday. DBO Fatorda led 2-0 at the half-time break with Francisco Andrade scoring both the goals. In the second half, Mark Revlon scored to reduce the margin for SCC Loutulim (1-2) before Necil Pinto struck to consolidate the lead for DBO (3-1). In the dying minutes Steve Fernandes struck one goal but SCC Loutulim won the match 3-2. Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda will clash with Anjuna Gymkhana in the finals scheduled on April 4.
