Comedian Domnic and Luis Bacchan have released their new tiatr titled ‘Ami Soglim Ek’, a family melodrama, in praise of the housewife and girl child.
Michael is a government employee and lives happily with his wife Joyce and children Dipak and Dipika. He is a father who pampers both kids much to the annoyance of the mother. He buys them expensive gifts and their mother is always worried. The son is in love with a poor village belle whose father Pandurang is a habitual drunk and has no qualms about using his daughter to get him drink. Soon Michael is promoted to mamlatdar and the rot sets in. Money is rolling and the wife is worried but unfortunately has no choice. A raid by the vigilance department is imminent and this is where the daughter steps in. Watch what happens later in the lives of this family and the two freeloaders, one of whom stays with them and the other who visits.
The tiatr has a well-written script that depicts various incidents in a family, with some good messages to the audience. Giving children whatever they desire, fights between siblings, a daughter who is as good as any son and the importance of the work done by a housewife are highlighted well. The cast has Priscilla as playing the role of the housewife Joyce, Sonali attracts with her innocent looks and childish behaviour, Olga is the village belle, Michael performs well as the mamlatdar, Elias plays the stubborn son and Rons is the tough vigilance officer. Anil Pednekar plays the role of the greedy and evil Pandurang and, Domnic and Luis are seen as the two freeloaders who talk sense and also create plenty of humour.
The band is great with Piety (trumpet), Natasha (saxophone), Seby (keyboard), David (bass) and Wilson (drums) who provide qualitative music and back the songs well. Rons sings the opening song in style and later returns with a hard-hitting solo which must not be missed. Songs sung by Priscilla, Rons, Anil, Xavier de Maina, Luis and Dominic are also good numbers. A solo by Elias and a duo from Rons andElias stand out. This tiatr is a must watch as family values are depicted well in it.
