Summer Street Festival begins at Garcia de Orta

The Summer Street Festival began with a good turnout on its very first day at the Garcia de Orta garden. White Flames belted out popular tracks through the evening as the city celebrated the first day of the Summer Street Festival. While the adults enjoyed the music, children indulged in numerous activities including clay modeling, book reading, crafts, face painting, storytelling and more.

The food court showcased some of Goa’s best chefs and restaurants serving Goan delicacies, summer coolers and sundowners, desserts, ice cream and a whole lot of chilled summer drinks made from local produce like kokum, cashew apple as well as other drinks. From chaat to burgers to crispy fried seafood and traditional Goan delicacies, there was something to suit everyone’s palette.

The event offered people an opportunity to sample local summer produce and culinary delights while indulging in art, culture and music. There were live street art, an art gallery, caricaturists and artists who created masterpieces at the venue.

There will be live entertainment at the pergola in the garden today with music from White Flames, Les Latinos, Chrysalis and others.
