MAPUSA : Mapusa police arrested four people for unlawful assembly, damaging property and threatening at a private hotel in Khorlim, Mapusa on Monday.
According to Mapusa police, Ashish Shirodkar resident of Ganeshpuri Mapusa and owner of Hotel Atmaram, Khorlim, Mapusa had filed a complaint that on Sunday at around 2 am at his hotel, Gaurav Bicholkar, his friend Rupesh and three unknown male associates entered his hotel and asked the receptionist to give them a room. When the receptionist asked for the identity card they started assaulting him with slaps and then damaged the window glass and television set kept at the reception and also threatened the receptionist with dire consequences.
Acting on the compliant Mapusa police on Monday arrested Gaurav Bicholkar, a resident of Aldonwadi, Mayem, Bicholim, Rupesh Babi Gadekar, resident of Government Primary School, Khorlim Mapusa, Suraj Patil a resident of Kailasnagar, Assanora and Shantaram Harmalkar, resident of Teen Maad, Sodiem Siolim for unlawful assembly and with their common intention to criminally trespass into the hotel and further damage property of the hotel. Mapusa police have registered a case under Section 143, 147, 341, 323, 506, 451, 427 r/w 149 IPC. Mapusa police is investigating the case further.
