Minor boy assaulted at Mapusa

MAPUSA: On Tuesday evening, a minor boy managed to foil a kidnapping bid after he was assaulted by some unknown persons near St Xavier’s College, Mapusa.
According to Mapusa police, a complaint in this regard has been lodged by the mother of the victim boy stating that around 5 p.m. on July 22, some unknown accused persons, around 25 years old, riding a Vespa scooter, and an Activa, with their common intention kidnapped her 15-year-old boy from her lawful guardianship while he was walking along the road to attend tuition class.
The accused assaulted him with slaps and kicks causing him bodily injuries and threatened him with dire consequences.
In her complaint, the mother of the victim has further stated that the accused persons forcibly offered him a lift and further assaulted him after taking him at a distance. They also forced the minor boy to smoke cigarette but when he refused they further assaulted him and even tried to hit him with a big stone, but the boy managed to escape from their clutches.
Based on the complaint, Mapusa police have booked an offence under sections 363, 506,323, 336 read with section 34 of IPC and Section 8 (2) of Goa Children Act 2003. PSI R A Kalangutkar is further investigating the case. NT
