Athletico de Parra drub Sangolda Lightning
MAPUSA: Athletico de Parra demolished Sangolda Lightning Sports Club 7-1 in the GFA’s U-16 Soccer Cup played at Sangolda grounds on Saturday. Parra were once again at their very best and took a 3-1 lead at the breather.
Ronald Martins netted a brilliant hat- trick all from his solo effort, while Sangolda pulled one up through Denzil who scored from a goalmouth melee. On crossing over, Parra’s Jason Monteiro scored a three-goal blitz. The first goal come from a superb curling free kick, with Ronaldo Rodrigues adding his name to the scorers’ list. At Poriat grounds, Goa United Sports Academy registered a 3-0 win over United Club of Nerul.
Betalbatim rout Sarzora 13-0
MARGAO: Betalbatim SC thrashed Sarzora SC 13-0 in the GFA U-16 league played at Panchayat grounds, Raia on Saturday. At half time, Betalbatim were leading 4-0 and then added 9 more goals in which Josely Dias alone scored 6 goals, thereby scoring a double hat-trick. Mathew Colaco was the other striker who scored a hat-trick for the Betalbatim lads. Mathew Cardozo and Asnel Rodrigues scored a brace each.
Sporting Clube blank Don Bosco Oratory
PANAJI: Dayne Britto netted a brace as Sporting Clube de Goa overcame Don Bosco Oratory, Panaji 8-0 in the GFA’s U-16 football tournament at Don Bosco grounds, here. Sporting Goa were leading 4-0 at the interval. Don Bosco moved the ball around very well, but the young side eventually succumbed to a stronger Sporting Goa team.
St Anthony’s Colva enter finals
MARGAO: St Anthony’s SC, Colva entered the finals of GFA 3rd Division when they registered an emphatic 6-2 victory against Union of Chinchinim in the play-off match played at Cuncolim grounds, Saturday. St Anthony’s were leading 2-0 at half time. Romario Fernandes scored a hat-trick for Colva. Baptist Fernandes who partnered Romario for the Colva team scored a brace, while their other partner unfront Rayan Fernandes also added his name to the scorers’ list with a classic goal in the 25th minute. Union of Chinchinim who played a good first half pulled back two goals through Daniel Rebello and Jonathan Rebello.
