Two more people were reported to have tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus (COVID-19) on Sunday, taking the total number of cases to five in the state.

As per the media bulletin released by the directorate of health services, the reports from the National Institute of Virology (NIV) at Pune have confirmed that out of the total 56 samples sent on March 27, two cases are reported positive for COVID-19.  Both are male patients, aged 37 and 19 years.

One of the patients has a travel history of returning to Goa from the Bahamas via New York and was quarantined at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, while the other patient is a close contact of a positive case, detected earlier, and was in the isolation ward at Sub-district Hospital in Ponda.
