In the semifinals on Tuesday, Royal Wahingdoh defeated United SC, Kolkata 3-0 while in the evening, Minerva Academy got the better of Mohammedan scoring by two goals at Nagoa grounds.

In a tournament that saw both the Goan teams eliminated in the knock out stage there was plenty of talent on display in Nagoa. Despite five goals being scored in the semifinals the day was not bereft of talent.

Leading 2-0 at half time through goals scored by their captain Rheadolf Nelson Nongneng  Daloi(37th minute) and Phrangki Buam (40th minute) who convered a penalty after Rheadolf Nelson Nongneng Daloi was brought down into the box, Royal Wahingdoh were all over the rival territory except  in the last 12 minutes  when United SC tried to claw  back . They had three great shotsat goal, all of which were brilliantly saved by Royal Wahingdoh FC keeper Kevinson  Bareh.

Royal Wahingdoh FC scored their 3rd goal through substitute Modester Matlai who came in place of hardworking Naorem Mahesh Singh in the last few minutes and added his name to the score sheet with a solo effort.

Royal Wahingdoh started the match with flourishing moves which were initiated by captain Reahdolf Nelson Nongneng Daloi and midfielder Phrangki Buam. Striker Naorem Mahesh Singh  also played a great game by  wielded his way through  accelerating runs  and exchanged positions from striking positions . At times he confused his opponents by switching wings with his colleagues.

After missing a few chances early in the game, Rayal Wahingdoh took the lead when a long shot shot from defender F Hmingsang Zuala bounced right at the mouth of the goal . The ball deceived the United SC  keeper Avishak Shaw  and the ever agile and opportunistic striker  Rheadolf Nelson Nongneng Daloi anticipated well what would happen and darted to push the ball to the far corner of the nets.

Goaded ,Royal Waingdoh were the seen pressing harder and their efforts bore fruits when Rheadolf Nelson N.D. dodged two defenders and slotted past the goalkeeper for the second goal for his team.

The second session saw both the teams almost playing on level terms and United SC  appeared to be rather more quick , orchestrating the play with timely passes and fine ball control. However, try as they would, they could not get past the Royal Wahingdoh  defence where their keeper Kevinson Bareh brought off spectacular saves off United  strikers, Rabin Kisku and Ram Hembram.

Just as the match was about to end, two minutes from the final whistle, substitute Modester Matlai  on collecting pass right at the centre from defender Kynsailang  Khongosit, ran solo to score  a  great goal to make it  3-0 in favour of the highlanders.

In the evening, the teams played a grueling first half which remained goalless. However, in the second session, Mohammedan lost the initiative after they were reduced to ten.

Minerva Academy scored in the 55th minute through Moirangthem  Giveson Singh as the last named sent in a rocket like effort from 30 yards to shock  Mohammadan SC  keeper Aftab Alam.
