Viva Goa, Goa’s first and only lifestyle magazine in collaboration with the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), organised a special screening of the film ‘Chuskit’ for the students of People’s School for Appropriate Learning and People’s High School, at Maquinez Palace, Panaji, on January 25, 2019. The event was partnered by the four Marriott Group hotels in Goa.
Present on the occasion were chief guest, vice-chairman of ESG Rajendra Talak; producer of the film, Namrata Goyal; general managers of the Marriott hotels in Goa, namely: Gaurav Apte of Goa Marriott Resort; Cajetan Araujo of W Goa; Victor Chen of Le Meridien and Manveer Kapoor of Fairfield by Marriott; principal of People’s High School, Purnima Naique, and the editor and publisher of Viva Goa magazine Kedar Dhume.
The dignitaries also unveiled a poster of the film as a symbolic Goa release. The 90-minute film is an inspiring story about a paraplegic girl who dreams of going to school and in the process brings about a change not just in in her family but also in her village.
“‘Chuskit’ talks about Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan which is the right to basic compulsory education for all under the age of 14. If we want India to progress as a nation then the only way forward is to educate rural India, especially the girl child,” said Goyal.
Speaking on the occasion Talak stressed on the importance of patriotism besides advising students to study with determination while Apte advised youngsters to focus on hard work and dedication.
”Never give up, fight harder to achieve your goals,” said Apte.
Dhume said that the screening was one of the many CSR activities the magazine will be organising in the near future.
