PONDA: After adoption of Querim village under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, Union Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Shripad Naik made his first visit to the village, and urged locals of Querim to fully extend their co-operation for taking up various development works in the village to make it a model village.
In order to derive benefits from Adarsh Gram Yojana, each member of Querim should work in tandem with the government, and then only Querim can be developed into a wonderful village, said Naik. The Union Minister visited the village, on the occasion of a gram sabha and handed over the adoption letter to the village sarpanch on Sunday.
Art and Culture Minister and local MLA Govind Gaude, former speaker Vishwas Satarkar, Deputy Collector Navnath Naik, BDO Prasiddh Naik and other officials were present on the occasion.
The Union Minister said that under this adoption programme, a proper study will be conducted to know the needs of the people in the village, and based on it, various development works will be taken up in the village.
“The issues of water connection for every household and sanitation facility will be given priority. Along with that education, healthcare and transport facilities too will be given importance while preparing the development plan for the village. All the schemes of the state as well as the central government will be properly implemented through this programme,” said Naik.
He further said that the people’s cooperation for taking up development works and willingness to work with the government are very much needed for developing Querim as a model village under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana.
“If the people cooperate fully, development in Querim can surpass the development works that were taken up in Ibrahmpur, the village which was adopted earlier,” he added.
The local MLA said that under this Adarsh Gram Yojana, the people of Querim should develop ‘adarsha’ thoughts and should work for the betterment of the society.
The people should willingly support the development works, and make full use of this scheme, he added. Deputy Collector Navanth Naik and BDO Prasiddh Naik informed the locals about the various aspects of the yojana. The members of the panchayat thanked Naik for adopting the village under the scheme.
