The Vibrant Goa Foundation recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Gulf Maharashtra Business Forum (GMBF) in Dubai to foster bilateral trade between the two regions.

The foundation  is organising Goa’s biggest business event to-date, the Vibrant Goa-Global Expo Summit 2019, October 17-19, 2019 at the SP Mukherji stadium, Bambolim. This event is strongly supported by the state government.

The MOU was the highlight of the second international road show conducted by a six-member team to four, middle east nations, the UAE, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait. Team members comprised, Anmol Modi, Tushar Kamat, Abdul Razzak, Dyna Elevators, Swapnil Saglani, and Brian Rodrigues.

“Response to the road show from the business communities in all the four countries was overwhelming,” said  Armaan Bankley, secretary, VGF. He said that, the road show began with a meeting with 200 delegates from 120 companies in a function organised by the Indian Embassy in Muscat, Oman. “We had excellent B2B meetings in this session and some members of the touring team actually signed business deals immediately,” said Bankley.

According to Bankley, the team in Dubai had meetings with all the seven chambers of commerce of UAE.  The Dubai and Fujairah chambers of commerce are expected to book exclusive business pavilions at the Goa summit. .

In Kuwait, the VGF team interacted with 40 companies in business meetings organised by the Indian Embassy. Several Kuwaiti companies evinced keen interest in doing business with Goan companies. In Qatar too, the team tasted success, as they interacted with many Qatari companies with the help of the Goan Association of Qatar.
