Designer Verma D’Mello recently showcased her latest collection ‘Kadamba Queens’ at the Cannes Red Carpet Fashion and Film Awards 2016 to be held on May 21.
Her collection was inspired she says by the women of Goa. Having showcases the innate quality of women in Goa, from the time it was ruled by the Kadamba dynasty, well before the conquest by the Portuguese, each of her garments is conceived with great thought and is hand-crafted to give a glimpse of what the Goan woman is all about.
She used a colour palate that comprised of pastels, nudes, champagne, old gold, and chromic bronze. “An ode to Goan women, I have tried to depict how a woman who is innocent and naive grows up to become strong, gutsy, fearless and independent,” she said.
