Unfazed by loss, Rui aims big

Thirteen year old Rui Noronha from Loyola High School, Margao contributed well for his team against rivals and Friday’s winners Our Lady of Rosary High School, Fatorda but his team could not make it for as the forwards missed fabulous opportunities.

“Rui has been playing for his school since Std III. He has represented in the school U-10 Invitational Football Tournaments held in the state and his goal assists have helped his team do well,” said his physical education teachers, Cajetan Fernandes and Ramesh Vhonnali.

“Last year we lost against Holy Spirit Institute, Margao in the Salcette zone finals and this year we had great hope to make it at the District Level but somehow it did not happen,” said Rui.

“We will try winning the Salcete Zone title next year” said Rui, adding further that his school has a very good team.” “We have a young team and we will work hard to win next year,” added Rui.

Rui is a bright student, calm and cool and displays a similar tendency when playing football.

“I want to be a good football player,” he said.  “I would want to be an engineer too” quipped Rui.
