MAPUSA: Anjuna police have arrested two persons for illegal possession of narcotics drugs suspected to be charas, hash oil and MDMA worth Rs 30,000 in two separate cases at Anjuna and Vagator.
According to Anjuna police during patrolling on Saturday between 3.55 pm to 6.30 pm at Ozran-Vagator, a person was found moving suspiciously and during personal search, he was found in possession of illegal narcotics drugs suspected to be charas weighing 10.2 grams and 4.5 grams of narcotic drugs suspected to be hash oil, all worth Rs 22,000.
PSI Vishwajeet Chodankar conducted the panchanama and seized the drugs along with cash of Rs 960 and registered an offence under section 20(b) (ii) (A) of NDPS Act against Anoob Raghvan, aged 28 years.
In another incident, another team of Anjuna police was patrolling along the road leading to Anjuna beach from Starco junction on Saturday between 3.55 pm to 5.35 pm, when they found one person identified as Eshwar Vernekar, 26 years, moving suspiciously. Upon personal search, he was found in illegal possession of narcotics drugs suspected to be MDMA weighing 0.9 grams worth Rs 10,000.
LPSI Manisha Pedenekar conducted panchanama and seized all narcotics drugs and registered offence under section 21 (b) of NDPS against Vernekar and placed him under arrest. Anjuna police is investigating the case. NT
