PANAJI: Indian Concrete Institute-Goa Centre, will be organising a two-day national seminar on ‘National Building Code of India 2016 and Revised Seismic Codes – Impact on Design, Construction and Safety of Buildings’ on April 27 and 28 at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, says a press note issued here.
This seminar is being organised jointly by the Goa Centre, under the aegis of Indian Concrete Institute, and Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
There has been an increased awakening among professionals, owners, builders, planners and the society at large about the importance of earthquake safety of structures. At the same time, there have also been constant research and studies in the field of earthquake science and seismic engineering, necessitating updating of codes and standards from time to time, mentions the release.
ICI, Goa Centre and BIS aim is to bring together civil and structural consultants, architects, academicians, builders and developers, urban planners, policy makers and associated government agencies to discuss the impact of the newly released revised codes structural design of buildings.
The exclusive two-day workshop will witness presentations by the code makers themselves and some of the stalwarts in the industry.
This workshop will give ample opportunity to all delegates to interact directly with the experts in the domain and gain knowledge through interaction and social networking events, adds the release.
