Three coronavirus positive cases have been reported in Goa on Wednesday.
As per the official press release issued by Directorate of Health Services all three are male patients, of aged 25 years, 29 years and 55 years. They have a travel history of returning to Goa from Spain, Australia and the US respectively.
The reports of their blood and throat swab samples received from the laboratory of the Kasturba Hospital for Infectious Diseases, Mumbai, confirmed that they are infected with the viral virus.
The DHS has said that the condition of all the three patients is stable.
This is the first set of positive cases of COVID-19 in the state.
In a statement issued Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that the government is providing best healthcare facilities to the diagnosed patients adding that the government curently is tracing all the people who have come in contact with them and quarantining them.
Meanwhile Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that the government is following all the guidelines laid by the central government and taking all the precautions with the support of the Chief Minister to provide the required treatment to the all three patients.
“Our testing facility will be up and running in the next two days. Our team of doctors are doing their best to make sure we contain the spread of virus in the state of Goa”, Rane said.
