With the aim of nurturing individuality, The Gera School opened a specially designed Experience Centre which is essentially a mock classroom, a presentation room and training set up in Goa. This experience centre is designed to be interactive and engaging with parents and children ahead of the school’s formal launch.
Head CSR activities, Gera Developments, Sunaina Gera said: “The Gera School’s 21st century teaching and learning vision comes alive in the form of this specially designed Experience Centre which is also our admissions office in the heart of the city. The mock classroom set up, presentation room and training centre enables the parents to visualise the actual school when it formally launches mid-year and understand its ethos and functionality. For the team at The Gera School, the admission process becomes a journey itself and we attach a great deal of importance to communication and interaction with families. Nurturing individuality, as the motto for the school, the team is keen to customise and individualise the process and make sure every question is answered be it about the curriculum, the facilities or faculty.”
The Gera School is a K-12 co-educational day-boarding International school that is being set up at the Kadamba plateau. The School will commence classes for Nursery, Lower KG, Upper KG and Grades 1 – 4 in August. Admissions for Grade 5 upwards will commence once clearances are received from the Government. The school has applied for affiliation to the Cambridge Assessment International Examinations (CAIE), a body certified by the University of Cambridge, enjoying an 800-year legacy.
It will have infrastructure and facilities which include specially-designed smart classrooms, dedicated rooms for music, theatre and arts, a well-equipped and spacious library for collaborative and independent reading, a range of indoor and outdoor sports facilities, science and computer laboratories.
The academic curriculum is designed to foster a sense of responsibility, critical thinking and reasoning, global awareness and civic engagement among students. The teaching is activity and application-based, experiential, interactive, and differentiated (to cater to the different needs of learners).
