Mumbai took pole position in the winner’s list with 14 restaurants, followed by Goa (10), Delhi (nine), Bengaluru (six), Chennai (five), Kolkata (three) and Hyderabad, Jaipur, Pune with one restaurant each in the top 50.

Gunpowder, Bomras, The Black Sheep Bistro, La Plage were among the 10 Goan restaurants that were adjudged the best.

Talking about the second edition of the awards, Divia Thani, editor, Condé Nast Traveller India said, “We had an amazing response to the top restaurant awards last year. This year, the results are even more exciting—Mumbai has more restaurants than any other city by a big margin. There’s a clear shift in taste: people care more about freshness, seasonality, local produce and regional cuisines. They also appreciate great ambience and service. Our audience and jurors are completely up to date with global trends and demand the very best, no matter where in India they dine. And the industry is responding. There’s immediate give-and-take via social media.”

Kuttiah KS, vice president and head of marketing, NourishCo Beverages, said, “The awards are clearly becoming the point of reference in the fine dine space and complements Himalayan beautifully as it defines the fine water space in India.”
