Tanisha wins mixed doubles gold

Panaji: Goa’s Tanisha Crasto along with her Chhattisgarh partner Ishaan Bhatnagar clinched mixed doubles gold at the Dr Akhilesh Das Gupta Memorial All India Senior Badminton ranking tournament held at Bareily, UP. Tanisha, partnering with Telangana’s Sahithi Bandi, also won women’s doubles silver.

Meanwhile, another Goan Anura Prabhudessai, along with her partner Riya Mookerjee, settled for a bronze in women’s doubles category.

In mixed doubles final, Tanisha and Ishaan registered a 21-17, 21-16 win against Sanjai Srivatsa and Anoushka Parikh. Earlier in the semis, the Goa-Chattisgarh duo outplayed Utkarsh Arora and Thanushree R 22-20, 21-13.

In women’s doubles final, Tanisha and Sahithi went down to Aparna Balan and Arathi Sara Sunil 13-21, 18-21. Earlier in semis Tanisha and Sahithi outplayed Anura Prabhudessai and Riya Mookerjee 17-21, 17-21.
