With the objective of providing students with a special and different learning experience, the BBA department of Don Bosco College, Panaji organised a 5-day study tour to Mysore and Ooty as a part of their academic program. 75 students and 5 teachers were part of this tour.
After reaching Mysore, the group proceeded to Ooty through Bandipur and Madumalai forest. At Ooty the students toured the beautiful Doddabetta Tea Factory and absorbed all the information about the process of tea making, they also bought a variety of green tea, herbal tea, rose tea, ginger tea and the like. The students also visited the Botanical Gardens, yet another tourist attraction in Ooty.
Apart from these places, they also went to see the rose garden, tea plantations and the famous Ooty Lake. After spending one night at Ooty, the group proceeded back to Mysore the next evening.
In Mysore, the students visited the Mysore zoo. They got the opportunity to visit two state owned industries, the sandal wood and the silk industry. The next stop was St Philomena’s Church. The students also caught a glimpse of the Mysore Palace fully lit up.
