The results of the one-act play competition at higher secondary and college level organised by Kala Academy at Dinanath Mangeshkar Kala Mandir have been declared.

In the Marathi Section, the first place is awarded to ‘Mercia’ staged by St Xavier’s College, Mapusa; the second place is awarded to ‘Moharlele Aste Shabdhatun’ staged by Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Centre, Assagao; while the third place is awarded to ‘Me Aai Ka Nahi?’ staged by Sridora Caculo College of Commerce and Management Studies, Mapusa. The consolation prizes in this category are awarded to ‘Pazhar’ staged by Shri Vijayanand Higher Secondary School, Bicholim and ‘Prashn’ staged by SS Angle Higher Secondary School, Canacona.

In the male category, the first place for best acting is awarded to student of Sridora Caculo College of Commerce and Management Studies, Mapusa, Omkar Karapurkar for his role in ‘Me Aai Ka Nahi?’; while the second place is awarded to student of Shri Vijayanand Higher Secondary School, Bicholim, Divesh Gosavi, for his role in ‘Pazhar’. Merit certificates in this category are awarded to Dayanand Surayakant Rane for his role in ‘35 Minutes’; Gojay Kamat Helekar for his role in ‘Do Bajniye’; Prabhav Abahy Tengse for his role in ‘Gathi Duheri’; Rhutvik Salgaonkar for his role in ‘Me Aai Ka Nahi’; Divesh Devanand Kavthankar for his role in ‘Pazhar’; Ratnesh Shirodkar for his role in ‘Liar’; and Prayag Shirodkar for his role in ‘Purush Sutra’. In the female category, the first place for best acting is awarded student of St Xavier’s College, Mapusa, Samrudhi Vaingankar for her role in ‘Mercia’; while the second place is awarded to student of St Xavier’s College, Mapusa, Sailee Garde for her role in ‘Mercia’. Merit certificates in this category are awarded to Yadika Phadte for her role in ‘Moharlele Aste Shabhatun’; Aarti Chandrekar for her role in ‘Prashn’; Sanchita Behera for her role in ‘Me Aai Ka Nahi?’; Shrutika Morajkar for her role in ‘Khel Mandiyela’; Sakshi Saale for her role in ‘Prashna’; Akansha Prabhu for her role in ‘Purush Sutra’ and Gauravi Parab for her role in ‘Liar’.

The first place for best direction in the Marathi section is awarded to Prasad Kalangutkar for ‘Moharlele Aste’; the second place is awarded to Vaibhav Naik for ‘Mercia’; and third place is awarded to Prashnti Mangaonkar for ‘Me Aai Ka Nahi?’ In the technical support category, the prize for best setting is awarded to Tushar Karmalakr for ‘Me Aai Ka Nahi?’, while the merit certificate is awarded to Navnath Gawas for ‘Pazar’. The prize for best light effects is awarded to Vaibhav Naik for ‘Mercia’ while the merit certificate is awarded to Ashwesh Gimonkar for ‘Pazar’. The prize for best background music is awarded to Sachin Gawas for ‘Khel Mandiyela’ while the merit certificate is awarded to Ajay Anand Naik for ‘Purush Sutra’. The prize for best make-up is awarded to Samiksha Dattaram Sawant for ‘Me Aai Ka Nahi?’; while the merit certificate is awarded to Devraj Gawas for ‘Pazar’. The prize for best costumes is awarded to Vipul Natekar for ‘Khel Mandiyela’ while the merit certificate is awarded to Chetan Caranzalkar for ‘Do Bajniye’. The first place for best script is awarded to Prashnti Mangaonkar for ‘Me Aai Ka Nahi?’; the second place is awarded to Prasad  Kalangutkar for ‘Moharlele Aste Shabdhatun’; while the third place is awarded to Rajaram Narvekar for ‘Khel Mandiyeka’.

In the Konkani section, the first place is awarded to ‘Challa Te Bare Challa’ staged by SS Angle Higher Secondary School, Canacona; the second place is ‘Bankhanitli Mukt Mana’ staged by Sridora Caculo College of Commerce and Management Studies, Mapusa; while the third place is awarded to ‘The White Lie’ staged by Goa University, Taleigao. The consolation prizes in this category are awarded to ‘Akant’ staged by Shri Vijayanand Higher Secondary School, Bicholim; and ‘Kalakar’ staged by GVM’s Gopal Govind Poi Raiturcar College of Commerce and Economics, Ponda.

In the male category, the first place for best acting is awarded to student of Goa University, Taleigao, Kaushik Avadhut Kamat for his role in ‘The White Lie’, while the second place is awarded to student of GVM’s Gopal Govind Poi Raiturcar College of Commerce and Economics, Ponda, Siddharth Naik for his role in ‘Kalakar’. Merit certificates in this category are awarded to Anish Phaldesai for his role in ‘Challa Te Bare Challa’; Shounak Pagi for his role in ‘Challa Te Bare Challa’; Vaibhav Kavlekar for his role in ‘The White Lie’; Dhruv Menon for his role in ‘Pede’; Varad Bhat for his role in ‘Bankhanitli Mukt Mana’; Gopal Nagvekar for his role in ‘Pashchatap’; Prayag Naik for his role in ‘Kalakar’; Gaurav Kinnarkar for his role in ‘Melo to Jagannath’; and Rupesh Varak for his role in ‘Punam Ka Chand’. In the female category, the first place for best acting is awarded to student of Sridora Caculo College of Commerce and Management Studies, Mapusa, Rashmi Sawant for her role in ‘Bankhanitli Mukt Mena’; while the second place is awarded to student of Shri Vijayanand Higher Secondary School, Bicholim, Prapti Bhikaji Pawar for her role in ‘Akant’. The prize for best costumes is awarded to Prasad Calangutkar for ‘Pede’ while the merit certificate is awarded to Prajakta Gaude for ‘Kalakar’. The first place for best script is awarded to Prashnt Mangaonkar for ‘Bankhanitli Mukt Mana’; the second place is awarded to Vaibhav Kavlekar for ‘The White Lie’; while the third place is awarded to Deepraj Satordekar for ‘Punam Ka Chand’.

In the English Section, consolation prizes of `3000 each are awarded to ‘My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend’  staged by Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Centre, Assagao and ‘End of All Miracles’ staged by Ganpat Parsekar College Of Education, Arambol.

In the male category, a merit certificate for best acting is awarded to Francis Rebello for his role in ‘My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend’; while in the female category, merit certificates for best acting are awarded to Gauri Pankar for her role in ‘My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend’ and Shanon Fernandes for her role in ‘End of All Miracles’. The third place for best script is awarded to Subhash Kamalkar for ‘My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend’.

The panel of judges comprised Sainath Padte, Sanjay Mapare and Samiksha Desai. The date for the prize distribution function will be declared at a later stage.
