PANAJI: Govt College, Pernem defeated Govt College of Commerce, Margao by 132 runs in the inter-college cricket championships, organised by Goa University. Govt College Pernem batted first and scored 215/2 in 20 overs.

Rama Gaonkar scored an unbeaten 115, while Sakharam Narulkar 58 and Prakaesh Sorest 20 were the other contributors. In reply, Govt College Margao  were bowled out for 83 in 16 overs. Akshay Naik 11  and Upendra Sharma 10 were the scorers for  Margao College.Sakharam Narulkar 2/8  and Bhiva Tendel 2/6 proved successful bowlers for Pernem College. In the second match, Smt Parvatibai Chowgule College, Margao won by 20 runs. Batting first, Chowgule College, Margao scored 158/8 in 20 overs. Dhiraj Naik 54, Samih Knttan 37 scored for Chowgule while Sameer Velip, 2/23 proved best bowler for the CES, College Cuncolim. In reply CES, College Cuncolim managed only 138/8 in 20 overs. Babloo Zore 32  and Sumit Dessai 50 were the scorers for CES College,Cuncolim while Akash Telgir 2/20  and Rohan Kale 2/16 proved successful with the ball.
