PANAJI:  A fine all-round performance by man-of-the-match Varad Dabholkar (34 n.o. and 1-20) coupled with a quick-fire 25-ball 47 by Akshay Kamat enabled Borda RCC (under 17) to beat Margao RCC by 75 runs in the ShubhamNaik Memorial Trophy cricket match played at Agonda on Friday.

Put into bat, the Borda side were 60 for 2 in 20 overs at one stage. But a fine partnership of 75 runs between Akshay and Varad propelled the Borda score to 160 for 4 in 30 overs. Shaheen Surlakar (29) and Arun Mohite (13) batted well for Borda. For Margao, Tejas Borker was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 16 in 6 overs. Margao RCC was skittled out for 85 in 24.1 overs by some devastating bowling by skipper Mohit Naik (2-13), Aizaz Shaikh (2-10) and Nikhil Kamat (2 for 2). Amogh Baykod (16) offered some resistance.
