PANAJI: Dempo Goodwill Ambassador, Talasha Satish Prabhu continued the good work of reaping medals at the ongoing 64th Senior National Aquatic Championships in Jaipur as she clinched the gold in 50-m freestyle with a timing of 27:50sec on Friday, besides winning a bronze in 200-m individual medley event as well.
With Friday’s two medals, Talasha now increased her medals tally to four as she had won a silver each in 50-m butterfly and 200-m freestyle in Thursday’s events.
Talasha, already chosen for the Dilip Sardessai Award for Sports Excellence, was declared the ‘Fastest Swimmer of India’ at the Jaipur nationals, according to her father Mr Satish Prabhu.
That apart, her achievements in Jaipur are a testimony to the fact that she is an outstanding swimmer and a great find for Goa in this discipline.
Talasha’s performance vindicates her selection as the Dempo Goodwill Ambassador for the simple fact that she has kept pace with the moderns demands of the professional circuit, where performance and only performance are the clinching factors for one’s success and considering the fact that there were professionals from Police, Railways, Services, Indian Airlines, Air Force in the fray at Jaipur, Talasha’s has been going great guns
