PANAJI: Hosts Sunshine Sports Club, Carambolim defeated Prince of Carambolim XI 5-0 in an one-sided match of 1st Sunshine League Cup 2010 football tournament, organised by Sunshine Sports Club, Carambolim at Carambolim panchayat grounds.

Diniz D’Costa, Narayan Hadkonkar (2) and Shabir Shaikh (2) scored for Sunshine. In the other matches, star-studded Friends Sporting Club, Carambolim defeated strong contenders RSC, Carambolim 1-0. Goalkeepers at both ends had a field day and brought off some splendid saves.
Nitesh Mistry’s free-kick was well converted by Gourish Vaigankar as it proved to be the match-winner. RSC keeper again denied Frankie Mascarenhas a goal when he dived to his left to make a fine save.
At the other end, RSC’s Suresh’s try missed the target. Small Boys Club, Carambolim defeated Youth of St Peter’s, Carambolim 2-0 as Bhagira scored a brace.
