MAPUSA: Sodiem Siolim SC spoiled hosts Nerul SC’s party as they registered a 6-4 win via tie-breaker to go into the finals of the Nerul Panchayat Cup at Nerul grounds on Thursday.

Felix Baretto headed the ball past Sodiem keeper off an Avinash Shirodkar free kick in the 16th minute. When it seemed that the home side were on their way to the finals, a harsh tackle by Avinash Shirodkar on Prestoni Fernandes inside the danger zone saw the referee point to the spot, and Raghu Shirodkar made it 1-1. Sodiem kept their cool in the penalty shootout, as they scored through Raghu Shirodkar, Mukun Shirodkar, Rakesh Vaigankar, Prestoni Fernandes and Anthony Fernandes while Avinash Shirodakar, Felix Baretto and Sarvesh Dabolkar scored for Nerul.
