PANAJI: Govt.College, Sanquelim and Goa Engineering College, Farmagudi moved into the second round of inter –college cricket championships.

In the first match, Govt.College, Sanquelim defeated Post Graduate Students, Goa University by 69 Runs.  Sanquelim batting first and scored 151/8. In reply, PG, Goa University could score only 82 runs. Ram Baykar 40, Imbrahim Shaik 25  and Haridas Sawant 18 were the top -scorers for the Sanquelim college while Siddesh Gawas 16/3 proved to be the best bowler for Post Graduates.
Siddhart Gawas was the top bowler for Sanquelim returning 5/3. In the second match, Goa Engineering College defeated SS Dempo by 53 runs. GEC, batting first scored 180/4 with  Gauresh Naik 45, Prathamesh Shirodkar 33, Rudresh Ajgaonkar 31 being the chief contributors.  Vikas Shetty 21/2 was the pick of the bowlers. In reply, SS Dempo were bowled out in 18.4 overs and managed 127 runs. For GEC, Varad Kuncolikar claimed 6/3.
