MAPUSA: A brace each by Sababh Sheikh and Agnelo Quadros helped Sangolda Lightning trounce Mandoppa Sports Club, Navelim 4-2 to advance into the semis of the 1st All Goa 9-a-side Reis Magos Panchayat Cup, organised by Verem Boys at Verem Panchayat grounds, on Tuesday.

Sangolda made early moves but Sababh Sheikh missed an easy chance in the 5th minute as he miserably failed to score from just outside the 6-yard box. At the other end, Mandoppa forged ahead through an adroit placement by Vikas Dhale two minutes later.
The setback shook Sangolda and they built enough pressure to squeeze in two quick goals—Sababh Sheikh scored in the 22nd minute and a neat finish by Agnelo Quadros off Prashant Khandepekar’s cross in the very next minute gave Sangolda the lead.
Sangolda continued attacking and scored two more goals as Agnelo Quadros scored again off a Tome Alvares through pass, while Sababh Sheikh netted his brace by beating three of the Mandoppa defenders. In the closing stages, Mandoppa pulled one more goal back as Roelteo D’Costa converted from penalty spot, 4-2.
