MARGAO: Prime Sports Club will conduct the Salgaocar memorial veterans soccer tournament at Nagoa panchayat grounds from Saturday.
The tournament now in its tenth edition has become popular as it is being organised at different venues each year.

Holders Salgaocar Veterans will clash with Verna Veterans in the inaugural match of the tournament in which Bardez Verterans, Customs & Central Excise Veterans, Cana-Benaulim SA, Margao Veterans, United Citizens Fatorda and Navelim Veterans have already confirmed participation.
Football legends Brahmanand Shankwalkar, Mauricio Afonso, Lawrence Gomes, Derrick Pereira are few household names that have regularly played over the decade in the tournament.
The U-16 tournament will also be conducted simultaneously with Salgoacar SC, Dempo SC, Orlim SC and Wilred Leisure Curtorim fighting for the top honours.
Nagao Sarpanch Mr Domingos Dias will be the chief guest for the inaugural match while Caitu D’Silva will be the guest of honour.
