MAPUSA: A fine brace from veteran medio Remy Colaco enabled St Cruz Sports Club, Cavelossim to record a facile 3-2 win over Goa Police Sports Club in the first round match of the GFA’s Second Division inter-zonal play-offs played at Duler grounds, here on Monday.

In a game of open play, both sides created early chances to snatch the lead. However, it was only at the half hour mark, that the game produced its opening goal. Cavelossim medio Remy Colaco unleashed a fierce right-footed grounder, which went into the Police goal off the upright.

However, it was all square at halftime break, as the policemen levelled the scoring in the 41st minute, as Paresh Morje tapped home a Banudas Rawal corner.

The visiting Cavelossim outfit raised their level of play in the second session and regained the lead in the 48th minute itself as Remy nodded home a Chirstbern Estibeiro cross, 2-1.

Substitute Shawn D’Costa then added his name to the score sheet, with a neat header from a Desmond Fernandes cross.

Up by two goals, the Cavelossim side seemed to drop their guard and the Police outfit capitalised as they pulled a goal back through Paresh in the 85th minute.
