PANAJI: Host Panjim Gymkhana crushed Goa Police by 111 runs to win the Bandodkar knock-out cricket tournament played at Bandodakar ground, Campal on Wednesday.
Sanjay Dabholkar’s brilliant knock of 94 runs and Balkrishna Jadeja’s 5 wicket haul of just 21 runs was the highlight of Panjim Gymkhana’s crushing win over Goa Police.
Batting first, Panjim Gymkhana scored 194 for 9 in 20 overs and then bundled out Goa Police for a paltry 83 runs.
The winners Panjim Gymkhana received a cash price of Rs 8000 and a trophy while runners-up Goa police had to be content with Rs 5000.
Dinesh Naik (Panjimj Gymkhana) was declared the best bowler of the tournament while Kishor Sinari (Goa Police) was adjudged best batsman. Man of the match in the finals was given to Sanjay Dabholkar (Panjim Gymkhana) while Rajendra Dabholkar (Goa Police) was chosen as the man of the tournament.
