PANAJI: Curtorim Gymkhana defeated Enfermos Sports Club, Navelim 7-6 via the tie-breaker to set up a semi-final clash with Betalbatim Sporting Club in the late Joao Francis Pacheco Cup inter-village football tournament at Betalbatim grounds, on Monday. The teams were tied 1-1 at full time.

In the ensuing tie-breaker, Curtorim scored through Savio Fernandes, Nickson Castana, Roy Albuquerque, Joao Fernandes, Luis Cardozo and Agnelo D’Costa. For Enfermos, Chandrakant Naik, Domnic Cabral, Jason Pereira, Sydney Colaco and Vincent Gomes were on target.
Earlier, it was Curtorim who surged ahead in the 10th minute off Luis Cardozo to take a 1-0 lead at the breather. After the change of ends, it was Vikas Dale of Enfermos who equalised in the very fifth minute to set up the match. But with both teams failing to break the deadlock, the tie-breaker system was resorted to and Curtorim proved better shooters.
Meanwhile, Curtorim and Betalbatim will meet in the semis on August 25.
