PANAJI: Mr Shrinivas V Dempo, Chairman of Dempo Group of Companies on Friday informed that he has been approached by his close friends to contest the Goa Football Association (GFA) elections for president’s post.

With the GFA elections scheduled for October 24, the present GFA secretary, Mr Savio Messias and vice-president,
Mr Peter Vaz have already spoken out their mind to file their nominations for the top post, but when
this reporter contacted Mr Dempo, he said that it was his close friends Mr Shivanand V Salgaocar and Mr Joaquim Alemao who were backing him to go ahead and contest for the president’s post. "In fact, I have been approached by my close friends, and especially it was Mr Shivanand Salgaocar and Mr Joaquim Alemao, who are asking me to go ahead. But I am giving a thought to it and have not yet made up my mind," disclosed Mr Dempo.
