PANAJI: World Yogasana champion, Nhehern Acharya, a Std 10th student of Dr KB Hedgewar High School, Panaji has been selected to represent India in the World Yoga Championships to be held in Olympic Hall, Moscow, Russia.
The event, organised by International Yoga Sports Federation, began on Friday and will conclude on Sunday.
Nhehern is the youngest International awardee at World Yoga Championship and a State Yogasana Champion. He is the recipient of gold medals at the National Yoga Championship for the 5 consecutive years held at Madhurai, Chennai, Haryana, Goa and Karnataka. Nhehern’s outstanding performance at the International Yoga Championships in Italy, Argentina, Rome and Thailand has won him many gold medals in events like single artistic yoga, pair artistic yoga, rhythmic yoga and yogasana.
Yoga Federation of India’s contingent consists of 22 member accompanied by Mr Ashok Kumar Aggarwal, the Secretary General of Yoga Federation of India, Mr Raman Kumar the coach from Himachal Pradesh Yoga Association and Mr Sachin Patwardhan, Manager from Maharashtra.
