PANAJI: Myron Fernandes, the recipient of the Gary Linekar award left for Leicester City, UK on Friday morning for a short training stint
in England.
Myron, who earlier represented Goa under 15 team on the tour to Porto, Portugal also went to the Manchester United soccer school for a short training programme two years ago. An ex-student of St Britto HS, he was also in the team which lifted the Arsenal Tata Tea tournament in Kolkata in 2008.
Thanks to the initiative of British MP Mr Keith Vaz, Myron is the second football player to receive this award. Last year, Lestern Martin received the award.
Myron earlier played for Goa United, Benny XI and is presently playing for Dempo SC.
